Bosses Can Ease COVID-19 Loneliness & Stress

Updated: Jun 8, 2020

I talked about loneliness with KNDU reporter Alex Rios last Monday. As discussed in an earlier blog, fear and anxiety fuel depression, and stress can kill. There were more than 80 suicides among those who evacuated after the Fukushima nuclear accident in 2011. My former boss of 20 years ago posted today that we “may find that with people who are home 24/7, combined with the stress and uncertainty of the Coronavirus, the incidents of domestic violence could rise.” We will see the spectrum of domestic impacts. There will be social-distancing casualties. For those in a position to communicate future plans, options and timetables to employees or customers, now’s the time. If not, then simply reach out to commiserate, with a goal to uplift. Keep at it…and stay healthy.
